The Noble Thread would not be a yarn shop without knitting happening. It is only February 6, and I am ready to share my February Make #1 with you!
This adorable Irish moss stitch baby jacket was lovely and oh so quick to knit.
First the yarn: Sublime's Evie in a lovely soft pink fondant colorway. The yarn is 94% cotton and 6% nylon. The yarn is one of the softest I have ever knitted with.
The jacket was knit on US 9 needles.
Then the pattern: Sublime's Evie pattern book, the Irish Moss Jacket.
The pattern was really easy to follow. I would rate it as a first sweater project as there is so little shaping. The jacket is knit in pieces and then seamed. The collar is picked up at the neck and knitted on. It took a couple days of knitting here and there. This was definitely a quick project. Perfect for a last minute baby gift that looks amazing!
The jacket looks so cute, and is so pretty. The little wooden buttons only add to the classic charm of the jacket. It has gotten so many compliments in the shop!! My only change to the pattern was omitting a pocket. I am sure any 3 month old would forgive the
I will have to make another one in a more boyish color for a soon to come baby boy! If I take the pink, the lavender and the coral out (I am being conservative here) that leaves me with 8 colors to choose from! If you would like to knit this sweater too, the yarn and the pattern book are in the shop right now.
