A couple weeks ago, a lovely lady came to the shop and bought some yarn to make a baby sweater. I asked her if there was a new baby coming in her family, and her response was wonderful. "No" she said " but you always need to have a baby sweater ready, because there is always a baby being born!"
Her words have been in my mind over the last 2 week, and In Threes (Pattern available at The Noble Thread through Ravelry in-store program), is the perfect sweater to knit and have ready for that next baby.
All it takes for the 0-6 month size is a 100g skein of Worsted weight yarn. Berroco Vintage and Malabrigo Rios are 2 great choices. I chose to knit the shop sample in Malabrigo Rios in the glowing Sunset colorway.
I followed the pattern exactly except for the bottom edge where I just did 6 rows of garter stitch.
I added a touch of whimsy with fabric covered buttons!
The knitting was so quick, it only took a day of on and off knitting. This is the perfect baby project: one skein, one day!
