Waiting for Rain, a very beautiful, dynamic knit shawl with a strong textural aspect by Sylvia McFadden is finished!
The red body of the shall is knit in garter stitch, and lace inserts are created. I really loved the textural contrast and decided to accentuate it by using very contrasting yarns.
The red is Wollmeise Pure fingering yarn in the Auf dem Rotten Teppich colorway, and the teal is Malabrigo Aguas.
The shawl was wet blocked, just enough to open up the lace inserts. You will have to stop by the shop to feel how soft the Wollmeise is, and see the gorgeous drape!
If you have never worked with Wollmeise, I strongly recommend it, and encourage you to try the Waiting for Rain shawl!
