I have some makes to share with you for July already! One is woven and one is knit.
I will start with the knit one first. The knit project is Taffy, my newest knitting pattern, which you can download on Ravelry. Taffy is a simple market bag in 2 colors, and it is knit out of Berroco Pima 100. (Berroco Pima 100 is our July yarn of the month, and is 20% off all month. ) I wanted to make a beautiful market bag with a little whimsy, and a coastal feel. The colors of salt water taffies were my inspirations. The bag is knit in one piece, and only one color is used at a time. The base is a cushy garter stitch, and the body a stretchy lace. Taffy is simple and fun to make!
My second make is the beautiful woven scarf. The scarf was woven as a freeform, art scarf in the Saori style. The warp is a silk lace, while the weft is a mix of linen, silk, cotton in different gauges, as well as bits of yarn, and fibers. The weft was manipulated to create an uneven weave, and randomness. I used an Ashford rigid heddle loom to weave the scarf. ( We carry Ashford looms in the shop). I just love it, and looking at it makes me so happy!
